Joey Logano ended a 45-race winless streak in dominant fashion by winning at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday.

Logano led a remarkable 323 of the race’s 450 laps. Only six cars finished on the lead lap, but Logano engaged in a close battle with Denny Hamlin for most of the final stage. Logano beat Hamlin by just under one second.
“I feel like I know exactly what I need to go fast at this place and [my crew chief Paul Wolf] gave it to me,” Logano said after the win.
Sunday’s race was North Wilkesboro’s first points-paying NASCAR Cup Series race since 1996. The track hosted the NASCAR All-Star Race from 2023 to 2025.
Logano mentioned the points gap he found himself coming in to Sunday. The three-time champion was 17th, eight points behind the Chase cut line. His win moves him to 15th, 49 points ahead of the cut line.
Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs, and Shane van Gisbergen rounded out the top five. Bubba Wallace was the only other driver on the lead lap. Just four drivers finished one lap down: Brad Keselowski, Todd Gilliland, Daniel Suárez, and Ryan Preece. The rest of the field finished multiple laps down.
A caution midway through stage two during a green flag pit cycle trapped much of the field a lap down for the rest of the night. Drivers like Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell ran in the top 10 before the mix-up but were left behind the leaders the rest of the night, ultimately finishing 17th and 19th, respectively.
Tyler Reddick’s midseason points freefall continued. He spun with Alex Bowman coming to pit road and was relegated to 30th, five laps down. He’s now 68 points behind Hamlin for the points lead and just 19 points ahead of Ryan Blaney for third.
The only driver to wreck out of the race was Josh Berry, who crashed out after contact with Bell.
The NASCAR Cup Series is next in action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 26.
